The School-Library Connection! If you are a parent or teacher who would like to bring your students to visit or have a librarian visit your group, contact Mrs. Rogers for more information and a reservation form. The invitation is for public schools, private schools, and home schools in the Atlanta/Fulton County area served by the Buckhead Branch Library. This is an opportunity for a story time session reflecting a current class topic or a discussion of the care of books or a lesson about the Dewey classification system.

Wear your bathing suits under a coverup, then join the group in the library Meeting Room to make flippers for a wild and wacky walkabout, hear beach stories, and try the floating lucky ducks for a little prize For ages 3-12
Tuesday, July 8 10:30 a.m. -11:15 a.m. Lions, and Tigers, and Turtles, Oh My! Enjoy value-based stories that entertain and stir young imaginations as told by professional storyteller, Wanda Whiteside For ages 5-12
Wednesday, July 9 10:30 a.m. -11:15 a.m. What a Crabby Program This Is! Listen to a crabby story, examine a real crab (on ice), make a crab craft to take home For ages 5-12 RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
Tuesday and Thursday, July 8 & 10 10:30 a.m.-12 noon Golden Numbers for Young ESOL Students Practice counting money, making change, telling time, and more: includes games, puzzles, book displays, a break for refreshments, and exercises to take home for more practice and enriching fun For ages 5-12 RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, July 14, 16, 17 & 18 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon Art Camp With Mrs. Layne Start your art project on Monday, skip Tuesday (for time to dry), continue camp on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and have your own creative masterpiece to take home Presented by Ms Adero Layne For ages 5-12 RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
Monday, July 21 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Cartooning With Mr. Ollie Imaginations will soar as students make simple shapes come to life as animals. Mr. Ollie (award-winning political cartoonist, Tim Oliphant) will demonstrate simple drawing techniques while teaching students the art of cartooning For ages 5-12 RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
Tuesday, July 22 11 a.m.- 12 noon Grandma’s Roots Explore with folk musician, Les Scott, what life was like before the discovery of electricity, automobiles, and other modern conveniences; includes audience participation For ages 5-12
Wednesday, July 23 10:30 a.m. -11:15 a.m. Wooden Zoo Animal Necklace Craft Come to the Buckhead Branch and make a necklace with figures of animals from far away lands and hear stories about animals that live in the jungle and the desert For ages 5-12 RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
Tuesday – Thursday, July 29-31 at 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Little Folks Prep for School Children who are just mastering their alphabet, and want to practice some kindergarten skills, can enjoy letter-and-word games, numbers, and shape recognition in a relaxed atmosphere at the Buckhead Branch For ages 4-6 RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
